I put in bold the questions I consider most important, but you can ask whatever you wish. I recommend starting with the first question, ending with the last, and inserting whatever questions most interest you in between. The questions in blue are for apologetic ministries.
- Why did you want to write this book?
- Why do so many people find the OT difficult to understand?
- I see you divided each chapter into eras. Why did you do that?
- What’s the first revelation about Jesus in the OT?
- Some people believe, as Rachel Held Evans did, that it was monstrous for God to command Abraham to sacrifice Isaac. What would you say to them?
- You say that the OT reveals Jesus in several ways. Can you explain that?
- Don’t scholars say some people go overboard in finding OT types?
- You talk about Jesus being the Passover Lamb. What does that mean?
- The NT says that Psalm 22 is about Jesus. How can that be?
- Why did so many of the Jews of Jesus’s day not recognize him as the expected Messiah?
- Why is it difficult to use Isaiah 7:14 (“the virgin shall conceive and bear a son”) as evidence that Jesus is the Messiah?
- Some people don’t think the OT is still important to read. What would you say to that?

I am so excited to tell you about this new book from my friends Pam Farrel and Jean Esther Jones!
This is the third in their series of unique Bible studies that combine rich biblical insight with an accessible approach, and the opportunity to color beautiful art as you go. (I’m personally not even an artistic person, but I still enjoy the beauty of the design on these studies.)
You might remember me posting about the first two before: Discovering Hope in the Psalms and Discovering Joy in Philippians. This new one is Discovering Jesus in the Old Testament. It covers a topic that many Christians don’t understand in depth–but that when you do, it will blow you away! To see how the Old Testament points to Jesus in so many forms demonstrates God’s fingerprints all over history and His Word. The study has 12 chapters, and covers Genesis 3, Genesis 22, Exodus 12, Psalm 22, 2 Samuel 7, Psalm 110, Isaiah 9, Isaiah 52-53, Isaiah 49, Jeremiah 31, Daniel 7, and Zechariah 2. What you learn will bring another level of richness to your faith!
You can do these studies in groups or on your own–they are perfect for either setting.
Also, if you have daughters who enjoy art, these books are AWESOME to do with them. You can discuss key details from the study topic and they can do the coloring to go with it. My 10-year-old daughter LOVES these.
